The funds were transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. PM-KISAN stands as one of the largest Direct Benefit Transfer schemes globally, offering eligible farmer families across the nation a monetary reward of Rs 6,000 per year. This amount is distributed in three equal installments every four months through the DBT method. To receive the installment, farmers must ensure their Aadhaar is linked to their bank accounts, necessitating eKYC and Aadhaar seeding with operational bank accounts. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has developed a mobile application featuring facial authentication-based e-KYC to facilitate farmers in completing their e-KYC for PM-KISAN. Additionally, this application enables farmers to assist up to 100 others in their vicinity with e-KYC, all from the convenience of their homes.
